Gokujyo Saibikoho:
The highest-grade Saibikoho. The selection criteria are extremely strict.Typically, out of 1,000 kg of Saikoho goat hair, only about 100 kg can be selected as Saibikoho. Among this 100 kg of Saibikoho, only 3 kg meets the Gokujyo, or Premium, standard.
Wajima-nuri:
A traditional Japanese lacquerware craft originating from Wajima City in Ishikawa Prefecture. It is known for its durability, intricate craftsmanship, and elegant designs. The process involves multiple layers of natural lacquer (urushi), often reinforced with Wajima jinoko (a special local clay powder) for extra strength. Skilled artisans hand-paint detailed decorations, sometimes incorporating gold, silver, or mother-of-pearl inlays (maki-e and raden techniques).
Due to its high-quality craftsmanship and long production time, Wajima-nuri is considered one of Japan finest lacquerware traditions.
This brush is a collaborative creation by Yoshiki, a master of makeup brush craftsmanship, and Hiroshi, a master of Wajima-nuri lacquerware.
The Wajima-nuri master has incorporated richer and more layered colors into traditional techniques, earning multiple awards both domestically and internationally. In 2024, he also crafted a pair of coffee cups for then U.S. President Joe Biden, showcasing his exceptional artistry on a global stage.

This brush is STUNNING.. it's truly a work of art. I purchased the green one and it is jaw droppingly beautiful. The gokujyo saibikoho is in a league of its own- it is almost translucent and incredibly silky soft. Softer and silkier than any other brushes I own (besides my other gokujyo saibikoho brush). It is bundled perfectly- I've only had 1 single hair shed from it (and I could barely see it at all because it was basically clear, it was that translucent), the craftsmanship is simply phenomenal. As for the handle, I'm in love:) The green and gold raw lacquer design is so beautiful. It's definitely more subtle than the blue or gold, but I love how when the light hits it, it sparkles so beautifully! I'd love to get the gold one if they come available again! I love this collaboration between master Yoshiki and the Wajimi-nuri master, and hope they will continue to collaborate in the future because these are amazing and such beautiful, yet functional works of art. I would love to see possibly a small eyeshadow brush set (perhaps a duo or trio), or a small cheek brush in the same shape/design as these three initial brushes shown above. Just a little suggestion;) Thank you very much Bobo for always going above and beyond in procuring such rare beauties for us!! I appreciate it so much:)
