High-grade saikoho processed using the traditional Japanese kakishibu dyeing technique is more resistant to water and oil. In addition to being used for powders, it can also be used for cream, liquid, and balm-textured products. The dense midsection of the bristles provides enough strength, allowing the tapered tip to apply products flexibly to the desired areas. Suitable for blush, highlighter, and eye primer setting, among others.

Mostly used for blush and bronzer. It is soft enough to apply a diffuse amount of blush and sturdy enough to blend it. This brush applies highlighter a little too thick for my liking but it is great for blush, or bronzer if you’re using the Elena Rachitskaya method. Do note that on my brush the fibers were very soft with the non-branded side splayed to the face, and there were a few prickly fibers with the Yoshiki-branded side splayed to the face. I believe this is probably due to manufacturing error and not an intended construction of the brush: probably some stray lower-grade fibers were blended into the branded side of the brush tip. That said, this is an excellent brush with a beautiful handle (IMO much nicer than Sonia G’s)—and these collaborations are much more affordable than other Fude brands. I would rather have a 90+% perfect brush I can actually buy, rather than a 100% perfect brush that is out of my price range. I would still say it is worth it. Docking one star for the stray fibers but in general, I think this is a five star brush.
Beautifully soft bristles and construction. The brush has a good firmness to it so placement can be precise. I use it for contour and highlight, would recommend it, it’s a unique shape, could be used in multiple ways depending on your preferences and face shape/size.
It pickup pigment easily. Best when used on blush formula because this brush gives vibrant color look.
I have several of koyudo brushes. While they are soft, they often shed. This brush is soft , versatile, and does not shed! I use it to set powder under my eyes and to apply highlighters. In a pinch, I can use the tip for eyeshadow. I will definitely get a backup of this brush!
It has a beautiful shape, the bristles are soft, and the Kakishibusome tint makes the brush look even more beautiful. I like the gradient design on the handle. I use this brush to apply compact powder and I love it. I must say it picks up more product than a squirrel bristle.
